Once upon a time there was a little puppy. He lived on the streets and had almost nothing to eat. He was always lonely and didn’t know where to go. Charlie’s mom died when he was just a few weeks old. He was not the only puppy that his mother gave birth to. There were 9 of them. One rainy day when Charlie was still asleep in the box under the trash bin his brothers and sisters were already playing on the street enjoying early morning sun. As he approached a corner behind which they were barking he heard the squeaky sound of a fast driving car with all 8 of them in the trunk. Charlie took off after the truck barking and hoping it would stop. It did not… Charlie went back to his old dirty box, crawled in without even thinking to go search for the food as he would do every single day. That was one of the saddest day in his life after his mother’s death…
Next morning when he woke up he was very hungry. So he decided to go search for the food. Lots of people were passing by him but no one seemed to notice. In a little while Charlie stopped and set down for a rest. Suddenly he heard that someone opened the door. He turned around and saw a beautiful little girl running down the stair and screaming: “Mommy, Mommy, can we keep him?” Behind the girl, Charlie saw a tall very elegant lady dressed in a stylish yellow summer dress. He was about to get up to run away but something was telling him he was safe. Both of them came up to Charlie and started patting him. He was excited but scared at the same time not knowing what this might bring. The tall lady told her daughter that she could play with the puppy while she was talking to her Daddy. It was love from the first sight between the two, a tiny puppy and a little girl. When the tall lady came back the girl looked at her with the eyes full of hope that she would let her keep the puppy. And she did! Oh how happy was the girl, she jumped and gave her Mommy a big hug then she gave a hug to Charlie. He was wiggling his tail thinking that he has found a home. As Charlie found out later the family he was becoming a part of was the family of the mayor of the city. They were famous people not only in their city but far beyond it.
The next morning when the whole family went for a walk Charlie saw a newspaper cover being sold on every corner they passed by…
Charlie was the happiest puppy in the world. But there was something that bothered him deep in his heart – his siblings; he was thinking about them every day. He didn’t know where they were and what was happening in their life.
Especially on a gloomy rainy days he was staring outside through the glass window and quietly crying. Those were bitter-sweet moments. Because every time when he was doing that his little beautiful friend came up to him and sang him a song to comfort him; her Mommy said Charlie missed his friends he used to play with.
The beautiful singing/humming by his new sweet owner would melt his heart and would take all the thoughts and worries away. Then they would go play with Charlie’s toys; one of their favorite game was tug a war.
One sunny day the whole family went to a big city park that is always filled with people and their pets especially on the weekend. They settled under a huge oak tree to have a picnic. Charlie was enjoying laying on the soft green grass by the feet of his favorite little girl in the world.
Suddenly he noticed a big group of puppies in the distance; they were playing catch and tug a war. They were surrounded by many people who would hug them and pat them all the time. Charlie couldn’t believe his eyes…. he started counting: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8…. there were 8 of them!! It was them; they were his siblings!! What a joyful day in his life! He got up and started running towards them.
The girl and her family didn’t realize what happened; the girl was panicking saying: “Daddy, Daddy, he is running away… catch him!”
In a minute Charlie was approaching his sibling barking and wiggling his tail like never before. They recognized him! They did! All 9 puppies were jumping and licking each other! The day has finally came for them to reunite and to reassure each other that they were happy and taken care of. Since that day Charlie never cried again, he new his siblings were in good hands.
